The first time I heard Raphael Saadiq’s nouveau Motown sound I was hooked. It’s like nothing I’ve ever heard yet completely familiar. His latest album “The Way I See It” was a Subsonic  hit right out of the blocks and I’ve been told more than once that his shows are the best people have seen this year, last year.. and EVER. Really. The only down side of this night is that it’s happening at the SoDo venue which can be a deal breaker to some but I think this is worth the acoustic and ambient pains.

Also on the bill is Anjulie who, given the right vibe, could work the crowd into a serious groove.
