Robin Pecknold Live at Neumos
July 17th, 2009
Hey kids, I just wanted to quickly point you to a downloadable live recording of Robin Pecknold’s set at Neumos this past weekend (7/11). Bandmates Josh Tillman and Skye Skjelset joined him on stage. This was the Vera Project “A Drink For the Kids” Benefit. It’s actually a pretty stellar recording done by one Jackson Barnes, and includes not only plenty of Fleet Foxes songs (“Oliver James”, “Mykonos”, “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song”, etc.), but also covers of Neutral Milk Hotel (“Two Headed Boy”), Fleetwood Mac (“Albatross”, “Dreams”), and Bob Dylan (“Oh Sister”), plus B.B. King and the Magnetic Fields. If only he’d done some Neil Young.

An exaggerated “hat tip” and bow to Sound on the Sound, who originally posted the goods as well as the handy set list. Here’s a direct link to the .rar file. If you’re a fan, go get it, you won’t be disappointed (though you might be annoyed by the one woman in the crowd who says “We love you very, very much” like ten times).
