Motor, the newest rock venue in Seattle’s SoDo district, is hosting a benefit concert for The Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee (KCMC) in commeration of the 15-year anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain featuring live music by the only KCMC-endorsed Nirvana tribute band – Nevermind.
.
This inaugural benefit concert is scheduled for 8 p.m., Friday, April 10, at the historic Motor warehouse, a facility used by Nirvana to rehearse prior to the recording of their last studio album, “In Utero.” 1/3 of all proceeds from the event goes toward the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee’s goal of building a youth center in Cobain’s honor in his hometown of Aberdeen, Wash.
.
The fundraising event also features local support, High Class Wreckage, a gritty, barebones, three-piece rock ‘n’ roll band tearing through the Seattle music scene.

Check the interview with Kurt’s grandfather… strangely enough he doesn’t like that loud music.

Presale is available at brownpapertickets.com – nice!
Motor is actually not where Nirvana last played in Seattle. It was a warehouse in the 90′s used by the band as a rehearsal space prior to recording In Utero.

Nirvana rehearsed in the space that is now Motor. Back then it was Jukebox City, a place selling old jukeboxes and pinball machines. The owners let them rehearse there. There is a lot of history in that 103 year building. And we are about to make a lot more!

Thanks to all who came out to the show. We raised over $1500 for the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee, glad we could help!
It was a great show and Nevermind played over 2 hours and were amazing! High Class Wreckage ripped it up! A young boy about 10 won the Guitar in the raffle,He came from Spokane to see the show.
Concealed Records did great job promoting this event!
