Say Farewell to Dateless

February 18th, 2009

Seattle’s best, and often times overlooked, pop-punk band (no, not in the crappy sense of the word…think more like the Ramones) are calling it quits after over 10 years. Starting in Longview, WA, Dateless have been rocking the stage in Seattle and all over the West Coast for years now, and if you didn’t get a chance to see them, you better do so before they are gone forever.

.

Dateless are that rare mix of dueling male/female vocals, driving bass lines, and rockin’ guitar solos. With the recent addition of KII on drums (best known of late for playing in local metal band Alabaster), the band seemed to be truly progressing, only to abruptly decide it was time to throw in the towel. No word yet on whether Le-Vy will continue to play music, but with over two albums worth of material already written, expect bigger and better things from singer/bassist Chris Crusher. Rumor has it that several exciting ideas are in the works, ensuring that Chris, and his talent, will not go quietly into the night (luckily for all of us music fans).

.

So, make sure to go out and check out Dateless while you still can, as they have only a few shows left in the Northwest:
.

3.12.09 Hell’s Kitchen Benefit @ Hell’s Kitchen in Tacoma

.

3.14.09 Grendel Presents Show @ GRN STRP House (in U-District) w/ Classics of Love (feat. Jesse Michaels of Operation Ivy), Mike Park (of Skankin’ Pickle), and the Damage Done

.

3.18.09  Ash St Saloon in Portland w/ Guests

.

3.25.09 The Funhouse w/ The Pillowfights (Final Show EVER!)

.

Once those are done, Dateless won’t be heard from again…so be sure to head on out and catch the best punk band in the Northwest before it is too late! (Don’t worry, I’ll post a few tracks for ya on here as soon as I can find my cds!)
