The Purrs, The Ettes @ Sunset Tavern

I dunno, this poster does a lotta talkin’. The Purrs are what caught my eyes at first, their Luna-style dystopian psych-pop being categorically awesome, but after giving the Ettes a first listen, this will be a rad show. They are garage-punk trio from LA that sounds like Mia Zapata (the Gits) fronting the Stooges. I know, right?!? “I Get Mine” is a deliciously raw 70s punk jolt with a haunting bassline and urgently catchy chorus. The Cramps, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blondie—all are appropriate references.

Prepare to have your face rocked off, slowly by the Purrs, and jarringly by the Ettes.
