It seems like I’ve been trying to see this band—without success—for the past several months. The Dutchess & the Duke‘s lovelorn, revivalist folk tunes seem to be the perfect antitode for the somber Seattle winter blues. Longtime pals Jesse Lortz and Kim Morrison playfully harmonize with each other while guitars, small drum kits, and various noisemakers make their way to and fro. You might as easily have your heart strings frighteningly tugged as be caught dancing barefooted in your kitchen.
