Starfucker @ Vera Project

Another one of my favorite local (Portland) releases this year, and recipient of the Most Pervasive (In A Good Way) Album is the epynomous Starfucker. You cannot deny—nor will you want to—that this record will propel you to the stars, inducing a sky-high so bouncy and catchy that you won’t be able to breathe. Just like in space. I wrote once:
“Starfucker is a gushing, explicitly exuberant approach to bounce-inducing, mind-wandering space pop…complete with sparse, layered lyrics, obsessive handclaps, and obscure aural clues to trigger that elusive space-gaze.” [Full Review]
