HUSH Records Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a FREE Compilation!

July 16th, 2008

Well, it looks like you’ve forgotten yet another birthday, you insensitive jerk! Luckily the Portland-based label HUSH Records isn’t one to hold a grudge. In fact, you’re still invited to partake in the festivities. In honor of their first decade in existence, HUSH is offering the ultimate party favor, and best of all, it’s free of charge! Colin Meloy, Flash Hawk Parlour Ensemble, Novi Split and many others are featured on DECA: A HUSH 10th Anniversary Compilation, a 28 song comp with accompanying 36-page PDF booklet.

Should you opt for the convenient, high quality zip download you’ll find you’re given an opportunity to pay an amount of your choosing for it. According to HUSH, “the proceeds to go to funding a retreat for the artists who participitated.  Songs are the richness of our community and we enjoy sharing them. It is an increasingly rare and meaningful gesture - which does not go unnoticed - when one is willing to pay for them of their own volition.”

Nice find. Although, I must say Hush’s poster band, the Decemberists, sometimes make me want to barf a little. It’s ok, I can just brush my teeth afterwards.
